Those cameras drive advanced driver assistance features including lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. The camera is mounted to or immediately behind the glass, so replacing the glass changes its physical angle of view.

Why this is easy to miss

The company says the problem is that miscalibration is usually invisible from the driver's seat. A system that is out of alignment frequently produces no warning light and no fault code. The icons still illuminate. Adaptive cruise still engages.
