VR Flying Simulator Expands Its Checklist Practice Library

The browser-based procedural trainer has added additional checklist sequences for student pilots rehearsing between lessons.

DENVER, Colorado — September 2, 2026

VR Flying Simulator has expanded the checklist sequences available in its browser-based procedural trainer, aimed at student pilots rehearsing between lessons.

The software runs in a standard web browser with no download and no headset requirement. It remains explicitly not an approved training device and logs no hours toward any certificate or rating.

Why checklists

The company says checklist discipline is the clearest example of something that costs aircraft rental rates to learn in the air and nothing to learn on the ground.

"A student working out what comes next in a pre-landing flow is paying by the hour to do something they could have made automatic at a kitchen table," said Zachary Tye Wennstedt. "That's the whole argument. It isn't more complicated than that."

What it does not do

• It is not an approved Aviation Training Device
• It logs no hours toward any certificate or rating
• It does not teach control feel or coordination
• It does not replace instruction from a certificated flight instructor
